Hope Everyone Had A Great Weekend! Couple of FFO's & WIPS Updates

Hello Everyone :)

I hope you enjoyed your weekend, and got lots of stitching done! I have been busy doing lots of things, and I'm excited to share :)

First off an update on my Lavender and Lace Angel of Grace WIP. I am moving right along with it, and hope to be done with it soon. Last week I worked on finishing up the 1 over 1 skin, doing the dove, and completing all the backstitching and detail work. Now I have moved on to finishing the rest of her skirt.

Now to talk about my Shamrock, and how Mr. Frog paid me a good 'ol visit on this WIP! Stinking frog!! Ugghhh! I had got most of the middle "leaf" stitched on the shamrock, when lo and behold it didn't line up when connecting it! And I had to rip out ALL of that stitching and a piece on the final "leaf" that I had started on the left hand side. So that is what I spent my Saturday night doing was stitching a whole bunch and then ripping it all out! Sunday I managed to get it all stitched correctly, and now all I have left is the left side. Whew, that was frustrating, but back on track now :)
Day 5 Shows the more true to color. It was cloudy today for Day 6.

Also on Saturday. I pinned and framed a piece I stitched about a year and a half ago, maybe two years ago. I am in love with it, and have it sitting on my desk. I got many a wonderful comment on it from Instagram :)

The week before I FFO'd the Mill Hill Wanda's Hat into an ornament. I backed it with spider scrapbook paper and added a beaded hanger! I love how it turned out. I want to purchase me a Halloween ornament tree for this year for these types of things.

I also have started thinking about what my next WIP or project will be. So many options running through my head. I thought about picking back up a big bunny with flowers project, or starting a Mira Mermaid, or Nora Corbett's Miss Valentine Fairy, or ??? As I get closer I will narrow it down and decide what I am in the mood to work on :)

I think I am going to go to Michael's this week and buy some floss for some projects to kit up. I have my floss list all written out for a good handful of projects. I have a 25% off coupon for the entire order of regular priced items, and that will work great since the price of DMC floss has went up!!

Well, I hope everyone has a great week and will talk soon :)

Updates On My Stitching Projects, Chatter, and Stitchy Mail

Hello Everyone :)

Hope ya'll are doing good :) We are getting hit with a bad storm system here on the east coast. Hope everyone is safe and okay in Alabama and Georgia who had some tornado's. We've got heavy rain, lightning, and winds. So please stay safe and dry <3

I have been concentrating on my L&L Angel of Grace, and stitching some here and there on the Shamrock. I am anxiously wanting and projecting on getting Angel of Grace done. Can't wait to see her all done! Thinking of my next project after her. I may work on some medium sized ones to get a handful of projects I am looking forward to doing. I am already working on a game plan ;)

I don't really want to say too much right now, but I have some exciting news to announce soon :) Will keep you updated on that when the time comes!

I should have another Floss Tube video up tomorrow. I will post here on the blog when I do. I seem to be doing pretty good on getting back into recording. I am planning on tomorrow or Friday getting started on next week's. Hope ya'll are enjoying them :)

I also have some stitchy haul to share also. It's not everything I have gotten as I share that in the Floss Tube videos.

I hope everyone has been stitching away!! Talk to you soon :)

Happy Saturday! A Finish and L&L Angel of Grace Update

Happy Saturday All!

I hope you are enjoying your Saturday as I am. Just been doing a little shopping for needleminders, cut a piece of fabric for my next small project to do in between my big L&L Angel of Grace, and getting ready to stitch.

Monday night after completing the last of the ornaments, I picked back up my Lavender and Lace Angel of Grace. I will share my starting point from where I left it last back in the first of November before the cruise before last. I have managed to get a ton done on it this week, and if I keep this pace up I hope to have it done in the next 2 weeks approximately :) I work on it of a day and into the evening, but around 9-10 pm I will switch it out to something simpler and smaller to get a break. I started a Mill Hill kit called Wanda's Hat and finished it last night. This is my 18th Finish of the Year.

My 18th finish of the year. Mill Hill Wanda's Hat. Finished 03/24/17

I prepped the last couple of days getting my next small project ready. I saw this one on Instagram this week where someone had completed it, and it was a freebie from Brooke's Books Publishing - http://www.brookesbookspublishing.com/CrossStitchFreebies.html . It's a shamrock, and I had been wanting to find one I really liked. After printing off the pattern, I was like what floss to use. I didn't want to use the plain DMC it called for, then I thought ok maybe a Mo's Sale floss, and then I remembered I had hand dyed a very nice mottled green floss last year. So I located the floss and decided it was a very nice "shamrock" color, and just a little while ago I cut my 28ct for it. So I should be starting that tonight - yay!!!

I am still a little sick! This stinking cold is holding on for everything it's worth! I am getting better, but it has been 2 weeks today since I started feeling crappy. I am slowly getting better so hopefully this week it will finally completely go away!

I hope everyone is stitching and enjoying your weekend <3

Happy First Day of Spring & More Finishes

Hello Ya'll :)

I hope everyone has enjoyed the first day of Spring and everything that entails. The newness and freshness ahead, along with the rebirth of the ground and flowers is something I look forward to. I love Spring - except for the pollen I am allergic to lol! It was a nice 65* here today, and suppose to be 80* tomorrow. After returning from the cruise all last week was a lot like winter, but hopefully it will stay warm now. I am starting to think about the flowers, vegetables, and herbs I want to plant.

I finished another ornament last night and the last and final of the 25th one a little while ago. So all the ornaments that was in that kit is done. Well, done with the stitching of them, now I have to FFO them, but they will be ready for the tree this year :)

I have decided to get back to my L&L Angel of Grace. It's just so spring like that it is what is calling to me. I will probably work on a smaller WIP or a Mill Hill or something of the like in between when I need a break.

On the chest cold front, it is really trying to hang on. I just wish it would hurry up and go away!!! I have so much I want to be doing but me not feeling a 100% is holding me up!

Hope everyone is doing good and stitching away :)

Myrtle Beach, SC 23rd Annual Quilt Gala ~ Quilt Show 02/24/17

Hello Everyone,

After my blog post earlier I worked on making a video of all the pictures I took at the local Quilt Gala I went to at the end of February. There was alot of pictures, and it would take alot to share all of them on the social media platforms, so I thought it would be great to do a video :)

I really enjoyed the show, and it was a little challenging to get pictures of the larger quilts along with it being crowded, but I think I done pretty good overall.

Here is the one and only thing I purchased at this quilt show, as I knew we was going to the big show in Daytona and then on the cruise, so I wanted to allot my money elsewhere, as I can go to most of these places locally:

It has beautiful soft romantic colors. I will have to come up with a beautiful quilt for this <3

Speaking of which I managed to get a little more done on my quilt studio before leaving out. I hope to finish it up this coming weekend if I am better.

I will also probably make a video of the AQS Quilt Week Daytona Show and of our cruise. Will do a blog post on that when I get it up.

I hope you enjoy looking at all the beautiful quilts :)

I'm Back From Vacation But I've Been Sick :( PLUS 3 More Finishes

Hello Everyone :)

I have been back since a week yesterday - 03/11/17, but I've been sick since I got off the ship. By the time we got off the ship and took a cab to our car I knew I was getting a chest cold. I could feel it setting in, and by the evening we got home I went to bed. It has gotten pretty bad, but on Thursday I went to my doctor, and he put me on 4 medicines. I was getting to where it was difficult to breathe of a night and was getting no sleep. I am on the mend now, but still not a 100%. Dang it too, cause I had managed all winter not to get anything, but those cruise ships are petri dishes! I try to use hand sanitizer and keep my hands washed, but there is just so many surfaces you are constantly touching on the cruise ship!

Anyhow, I really, really enjoyed the AQS Quilt Show in Daytona! I will get more into that in another post, and when I am feeling better.

Also, near Port Canaveral was a quilt shop near where we were staying before we left out for the cruise, and boy did I get some beautiful things! I will be sharing soon my goodies. I may even make a YouTube video on my quilty acquisitions.

The cruise - at least I didn't get sick while on it - was really great and we had a blast. I did get a bad sunburn on my upper body on the second port day - and YES!, I used SPF 70 water resistant sunscreen. Go figure! I will also share more about that in another post along with pictures.

I did feel good enough yesterday to get back to stitching from being sick, and I managed to finish 2 small projects! I started and finished a Mill Hill kit called Pilgrim, and finished another ornament. I also finished another ornament earlier today. So I have managed to finish 3 smalls since yesterday!! I only have 2 more ornaments left and I will be done with them! I am thinking about what I want to work on next. I am thinking I will get back to my L&L Angel of Grace. It's been sitting there staring at me ;)

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying your Sunday!

Talk Soon :)

Five More Finishes This Year and Craft Studio Update!!

Hello Everyone :)

I hope this finds you all well and in good spirits! We have been having some amazing weather here in coastal South Carolina, and from what I have seen people post on Facebook, even people up North are getting some nice Spring weather.

I have managed another 5 cross stitch finishes since my last post on the Christmas ornaments (see pics below). I am working on another one, but I haven't stitched on anything since Thursday night. Cause:

Friday I went to the local Quilt Gala (more on that to come in another post), yesterday after getting up and getting breakfast and riding to the lumbar store with the hubby (he is now expanding his storage shed), me and my girls worked ALL DAY and I mean All day out in my quilt studio. I call it a quilt studio, but I guess it could also be called a craft studio, cause it does contain some of my totes of cross stitch kits and I have a bookshelf with patterns upon patterns, and also I have designated an area for where I am going to have my own space to make handmade soap out there instead of in my kitchen. It also has my painting and mixed media stuff out there. Lots of goodies to play with :) I came in for about and hour to grill steaks, cook mushrooms and boil the ears of corn for supper. After that those little slave drivers of mine (my 17 yr old twins) wanted to keep going until all the totes and bags was put away, but about 8:30 last night I called quilts. Me and Elizabeth went out there this morning and worked for about an hour to and hour-and-a-half and got some done before she went to her friends house, but we are going to work on it some more after school tomorrow. After we get the quilting goodies all organized, we have to get all my soaping things put away! Oh and this past Monday, while they were off from school for President's Day, we worked 6 hrs out there. I have a pic they snapped from Monday, but alot more has been organized and cleaned up yesterday and today :)

In other news, I will be getting to go to Quilt Week in Daytona, FL this coming week!!! Squee! This will be my first big show ever so far! I am so looking forward to test driving the longarm quilt machines to see which one I am interested in, so when I am ready to make my purchase I will know what I want! I have had one of the small arm quilting machines and frame for 10 yrs now, and I have used it maybe  6 times cause I don't like all the stopping and starting due to not having enough quilt throat space for the designs I want to do. Like I mentioned, I went to our small local show on Friday, but I am sure it will be nothing like this one. I get a day and a half to go, so we will be staying 2 days in Daytona, and then we will stay a night in Port Canaveral, as we are leaving for a 7 day cruise on Sat.! Really excited about that too - the timing worked out perfect :)

I do plan on stitching here in a little bit - yay! I wanted to update the blog before my exciting week coming up, and then the following week I will be on the cruise. I may post another time or two, as I want to share some pictures from the Local Quilt Gala also before leaving out Weds.!

Take Care and enjoy the beautiful weather (that is if you are having some, if not stay warm!)

Three More Finishes ~ Moving Right Along!

Well, I have managed three more finishes since Valentine's Day. I finished one on the 14th and two on the 15th. I have 10 more of these various designs to do and they will all be complete. I will then need to finish them off into ornaments.

I received some Weeks Dye Works and Gentle Arts Threads in the mail on Monday for some Lizzie Kate Jan. - Dec. Flip It's. I am looking forward to getting to those eventually.

It is a beautiful sunny day here in South Carolina. A little chill this morning, but the high is suppose to be 57*. That's a little chillier than it has been. By the weekend it's suppose to be back in the low 70's - my kind of weather :) Before long it will be time to get the pool opened up. Hubby told me the other day to go ahead and start ordering the chemicals for it.

On another note, I have an ultrasound on my thyroid this afternoon at 1:30 pm. I have to have one yearly cause there is several small nodules on there they like to keep an eye on. I also need to schedule a mammogram while there as I am overdue for one as I have to have them yearly. I am now 39, but when I was 31 I had uterine cancer, so they keep a close watch on everything. I had a colonoscopy last March, and I have to have them every 5 years! Better safe than sorry, so PLEASE everyone get your screenings!!

I made it to the gym yesterday. I only managed 30 minutes flat cause I was pressed for time. I had to pick up my daughter, but at least I went. I may take today off from the gym since I have the test, but we will see. I went 3 days last week, and 2 days so far this week. My goal is the minimum of 3 days a week starting out, and then increase it from there. I do also have several chronic conditions so there is days I just hurt really bad, but I am prevailing and that is what matters. Baby steps!!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day/evening/night depending on what part of the world you are in!

Another Christmas Ornament Done :)

Yay!! I have another Christmas ornament done :) I completed it yesterday, and it looks like I may get one completed for today also.

I started cranking these out from a kit that makes 25 ornaments right around Oct/Nov.. You can see the other ones I have completed either on Instagram or Older Blog Posts on here.

After I get them all stitched, I will do the finishing on them and they will be ready to go on this year's tree. As I stitch these small little projects to get back into the swing of things, my mind keeps wondering what I will do after I get these done. I am wondering if I should pick back up my Lavender and Lace Angel of Grace or ???. I have also been wanting to start a Mill Hill kit or something else. I have 11 more ornies to go I think, so I still have about a week to keep figuring it out ;)

I tend to be usually a one project kinda girl here in the last year-and-a-half. I use to love to start new things all the time, get quickly bored with it and start something else. But now I like to usually stick to one project get it finished and move onto the next. Withstanding though a large project like my L&L, I will start a small and work on it when I need a few days break from my large project. Now it seems, I love to get finishes in over starts. Also, I noticed I seem to get alot more done this way. What is your stitching style like? Do you love new starts or one or two projects only at a time?Would love to hear about your stitching style :)

I didn't make it to the gym today cause I got a "janky" treadmill at Planet Fitness yesterday that the belt was weird on and I was hurting in my right hip/buttock area yesterday evening cause of it. I know, I should have switched immediately to another treadmill, but I didn't want to start my time over. Lesson learned for sure!! I plan on going tomorrow. I went three times last week, and want to do at least that this week. I went from practically zero physical activity to going 30 minutes a day, and I try and improve on something small each time - like a little faster, or a little farther, etc..

I want to go see 50 Shades Darker this week or next week. Has anyone seen it? Did you like it? I have read all the books and watched the first movie, but it seems the critics are hitting this one hard and giving it bad reviews, but that to me doesn't really mean much lol! I know the critics gave Split a raving review and I didn't like it at all!!

I hope everyone has a great Valentine's Day!

Oh Stitchy Bug You Was Lost But Now Found :) And Two Finishes in One Day!

Well Hello There :)

It's been since November since I last wrote, but there's a sad, sad reason as to why. The first of December I lost my stitchy bug :(  No clue as to where it went but went it did!! I did not pick up a needle until yesterday - Feb. 12, 2017! I did get back at it fast and furious and I finished 2 small Christmas ornaments in one day and started a 3rd - Yay :) I will share those down below.

I don't know why it left me. We was getting along so well. Getting lots done in 2016, but I guess it went on vacation when I did, but didn't want to come back until yesterday even though I returned back right before Christmas. December the 9-18 we went on a cruise to Aruba, Bonaire, and Grand Turk. We had a great time! We are leaving out again the first of March to hit up 4 different ports around Mexico. Looking forward to that! Hopefully my stitchy bug won't leave me again after coming back from this upcoming cruise!

Hope everyone has jumped into 2017 with a good start on all they want to get accomplished. Last Weds. I started going back to the gym. Trying to lose some weight and get healthier. I have a long road ahead of me, but slow steps and small changes will lead to a better me eventually - Rome wasn't built in a day!

Also, my quilt studio has come along quite nicely. Me and my daughter has gotten alot organized out there since December - yes, that to hasn't been touched since then. Hubby and our neighbor built me a 6 foot cabinet, and he is going to put a sink in it so I can make my soaps and beauty items out there. He was staining the cabinet yesterday, and will be putting the drawer handles on it today. We have to purchase the counter top, sink, and hot water heater and install them and it will be finished. I feel so lucky to have a hubby who can do all these things for me. I will have to eventually share some pics of my woman cave ;)
